Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?+
Before After Studio Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. You can also manage it directly from this link. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase?+
Open Before After Studio, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.
What's the difference between free and Pro?+
The free tier lets you create up to 3 projects and export at 720p with a watermark. Pro subscribers get unlimited projects, export at 1080p or 4K, and all exports are watermark-free. Pro is available as a weekly, monthly, or annual subscription.
How does the ghost overlay work?+
When capturing an “after” or “progress” photo, the camera shows a semi-transparent overlay of your previous shot. This helps you match framing precisely so your comparisons line up. You can adjust the overlay opacity or turn it off from the camera controls.
Is my data shared or stored on a server?+
No. Before After Studio stores all data — including your photos and project information — locally on your device. There are no user accounts, no third-party analytics, and no server-side storage. Your photos never leave your device unless you choose to export and share them.
What export formats are available?+
You can export as JPEG images (side-by-side or top/bottom composites) or as videos (crossfade effect, animated slider pass, or full timeline video with date labels). Video exports support configurable aspect ratio, speed, and resolution (720p free, 1080p and 4K with Pro).
How does the timeline feature work?+
When a project has 3 or more photos (before + progress + after), it gains a timeline. You can scrub through all entries with date labels to see your full transformation journey. Adding a new “after” photo automatically moves the previous one into the timeline as a progress entry.
